Memories from Mind Your Language

This has got to be one of my all time favorite childhood tv shows. It used to air on the old SBC 12 Channels. I remember sitting down with my whole family and laughing away to the hilarious comedy by Mr Brown & his class of foreign students. My favorite characters were the italian named Giovanni and spanish guy named Juan Savantis. Ahh, those were the days when television used to be so funny and family oriented.

Back from a wonderful holiday !

I'm back from my holiday in south india. Well it's been a while since i came back but i could only manage to write now about my experiences. Well it was a totally memorable experience for me to visit my ancestral hometown after 13 years. I'm very pleased that nothing significant has changed in this rustic fishing village. The people are still friendly and warmth like i used to know them, the places have not changed much and people still think owning a computer is an unwarranted luxury. I experienced a whole different lifestyle which I've been sorely missing all these years. There was no place for technology to dictate our lives here and make us complacent. Children still behaved like children and enjoy playing traditional games.

India has always been a eye opener for me...it has taught me how the simple things in life mean the most. For someone who comes from a country like singapore which is rapidly changing,i think i am missing out in many great things in life. Singapore is changing too fast for it's own good...many people are finding it too stressful to keep up....all this because they just want to keep the competitive edge and stay ahead economically and we are doing this in the expense of giving up their happiness and peace of mind.

I have made up my mind that when the time is right, i want to return back to my homeland. I do not wish to end up bitter especially in my old age. We all have only once chance to live and it's best we live that life with peace and happiness. I won't find it here in singapore. It's a country that's going in the wrong path.....family & neighborly unity do no exist here anymore....everyone seems to be only concerned on making money....I'm very assured that won't guarantee me happiness. India, love it or hate it....you can't live without it.

FOR THOSE ABOUT TO ROCK...HELLOWEEN WAS HERE !

I will never forget Feb 24 2008. One of my life long dream came true when i finally got to see one of my all time favorite metal bands perform live in concert. I was there at Fort Canning Park to witness legendary metal band Helloween perform live for the first time in singapore. It was a truly power packed and energetic concert by the legendary german band. If any metal fan in singapore missed this concert, they made the biggest mistake of their lives and are going to live to regret it for the rest of their life.

It's just a privilege to get a band like Helloween to come to singapore let alone perform....and perform they did ! They played almost all of their classic hits from Eagle Fly Free, Future Word, Marching Time, I Want Out, Dr Stein....nothing in the world can replace the feeling of seeing helloween perform live their all time greatest hits. They were relentless in their metal assault and the drum solo was just mind-blowing.

Well I was there when Helloween performed live in singapore. It was a dream come true. It only happens once and i'm glad i made the right choice. Rock On.
